Chief Francis O’Neill was born in County Cork but eventually settled in Chicago in 1870. After serving more than three decades in the Chicago Police Department, O’Neill spent the next thirty years of his life collecting and preserving the beloved music of his native Ireland.

In his quest across America, Britain, and Ireland he collected and archived more than 2,000 tunes, so out of all of those for this one to be called his favorite must really be something! A jaunty hornpipe in D with a few accidentals to send it in unexpected directions is sure to keep you on your toes!
