The Butterfly

Slip Jig in A-dor

A three-part slip jig with a haunting melody in A-dorian

A straight-forward A part, however the B part is commonly played two different ways. In the first and third phrase you can go up the scale B-C-E-F#-G or B-D-E-F#-G. In this recording you will here it with the D note played instead of the C.

The accompaniment is fairly simple in the A and B parts, mostly hovering around the Am and G chords. The C part shifts into G-maj, with the accompaniment following suit. The first phrase of the A part is played again at the very end as a hook.
