A New Guitar!

Some months ago I ordered a new guitar, and I am absolutely delighted with its arrival. It’s a brand new Martin D-35 dreadnaught style acoustic guitar - quite the upgrade from my old Peavy dreadnaught that I have been playing these last 20 years.

I had a little bit of buyer’s remorse in the time between when I ordered it and when it arrived. I always get that little bit of anxiety over any large purchase, musical or otherwise. But the moment I took it out of the case and strummed the strings for the first time, I knew I had something special. The brightness of the high-end, the well balanced middle, and the thundering bass response all come together in a tone that is just beautiful.

Expect to hear it more as the accompaniment track in the weekly tune uploads, but for now here are a couple jigs recorded entirely on the new guitar.
